The Mahindra Enforcer Patrol jeeps gets high satisfaction rating among users within the Philippine National Police system, based on reports submitted by Antonio R. Mallari, Jr., after-sales director of Columbian Autocar Corp. – Mahindra.
Mallari cited figures gathered from Mahindra’s 14 dealers nationwide that not more than 4 percent of the 1,470 Enforcer patrol jeeps delivered to the PNP, or only about 61 units, have been brought to Mahindra’s service depots only for minor repairs and regular preventive maintenance service (PMS).
“Considering that these patrol jeeps have been delivered over a year ago and the kind of rigorous usage the vehicles have been subjected to, these figures are very low by industry standards,” says Felix J. Mabilog, Jr., president of Columbian Autocar Corp. – Mahindra. ”The patrol jeep’s performance in the field and on the job has been very satisfactory, proving Mahindra critics and non-believers wrong,” he added.
The contract award that Mahindra won in a bidding process to supply the PNP with brand new patrol jeeps had created a minor furor over a year ago owing to the losing participants’ contention that Mahindra is not an established brand in the Philippines and that it lacks a national network to service the vehicles.
“Obviously that is now water under the bridge,” says Columbian Autocar Corp. – Mahindra After-Sales Director Antonio R. Mallari, Jr., “Our service depots have stocked up on genuine Mahindra parts to service the vehicles’ requirements which at this stage appears to be being overly cautious. Most of the vehicles brought to our dealerships just need regular preventive maintenance service, battery or tire replacements. Nothing serious,” Mallari added.
Mahindra’s national dealer network has service depots that carry genuine Mahindra parts and supplies. The dealerships are in Las Pinas, Pasay, Metroeast, Fairview, Sto. Tomas in Batangas, Baguio, Palawan, Nueva Ecija, Gorordo Cebu, Mandaue Cebu, Talisay Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Butuan and Davao.
